Heavy rains lashed several districts of West Bengal on Thursday morning as the powerful Cyclone Dana moved closer to the state’s coastline and neighboring Odisha, the IMD reported. The cyclone is expected to make landfall early Friday between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra Port in Odisha, with wind speeds reaching up to 120 kmph, posing a significant threat to the region. Cyclone Dana Live Updates: Evacuations in Full Swing in Bhadrak

The Bhadrak district administration in Odisha began evacuating residents to cyclone shelters on Thursday ahead of Cyclone Dana’s expected landfall on October 25. Bhadrak Collector Dilip Routrai told ANI, “We are relocating people from high-risk areas. While some are voluntarily evacuating, others are being assisted by the police as they are reluctant to leave their homes.”
