Several students from a private school near Thiruvottiyur, North Chennai, were hospitalized on Wednesday, October 25, after a suspected gas leak caused symptoms of breathlessness, dizziness, and nausea. The incident occurred in the afternoon, affecting mostly students from classes 8 to 10 on the third floor of the school.

According to a senior police official, around 30 students were impacted. “All of them are doing fine now, and their health condition is stable.” Students first noticed a strong pungent odor, which quickly led to dizziness and breathing difficulties, prompting school authorities to seek immediate medical assistance. Investigations are ongoing.
